The master bedroom in a Californian bungalow, had an update and refresh for a professional couple, whose adult children have left home. The inspiration and starting point was the art work. The client had found an amazing Bromley art piece that she loved. Feeling a bit nervous making a decision, after consulting me, she bought it!

The Bromley piece became the focal point above the bed. The cool greens in the painting were echoed in the dark blues of the bedside tables and a cushion on the bed. The violet geometric cushions were in contrast to the greens. To combat the straight lines of the room, circles were introduced in the mirror, lamps and handles on the bedside tables. The honey colour of the bedhead and linen doona cover created a warm and cosy feel.

The room now feels fresh, contemporary and calm. And the client has no reservations about her Bromley painting which sits comfortably and in command of the room.
