My interest in design has been around for as long as I can remember.

About Katie.

For me, interiors start with a feeling. I always remember how a place or a room made me feel. That’s where I start. And that’s the difference in my approach to interiors.

I’m a good listener and want to understand you and your family. Your lifestyle, likes, dislikes and your experiences. Sometimes, the creative spark comes from an experience you are recounting or a piece of pottery that your kids made. It’s from there that I intuitively interpret and visualise your home.

Your home is your unique experience. It’s where you eat, binge Netflix, take naps and chat with your family. So I want it to reflect and feel personal to you.

My interest in design has been around for as long as I can remember. As a child I spent hours in my bedroom trying to recreate the feel of the dreamy rooms in the Sheridan catalogues. I moved my bed from one side of my room to the other and felt special when my mum bought me tie backs for my frilly curtains.

After school, I studied arts and law majoring in history and art. I worked in creative industries such as fashion, property and retail but on the side line as an in-house lawyer for too many years. After years of searching for my authentic self, I returned to my love of design.

I have an Arts and Law degree from Monash University and a Certificate IV in Interior Decoration from Holmesglen. I’m a Member of the Design Institute of Australia and a member of the Melbourne Designers Group. When I’m not designing, I’m playing tennis, going for a walk, drinking coffee or hanging out in regional Victoria with my family.
